Firefighters from the James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department and departments in the surrounding communities participated in a Rural Water Supply course from 16-17 September 2023. This course is designed for the rural fire departments that depend on tanker shuttles to provide water at the fireground and consists of classroom training on equipment needed, apparatus placement on the fireground and the fill site, safety and extensive hands-on training conducting tanker shuttles under realistic conditions.
